The Emporia State baseball team split a doubleheader with Northwest Missouri State Saturday.
The Hornets won the first game 10-0 in 7 innings. They scored 6 runs in the 2nd inning and added 4 runs in the 6th inning.
Jake Barton shutout Northwest on 1 hit with 9 strikeouts.
Northwest won the 2nd game 2-1, scoring both runs in the bottom of the 9th with 2 out.
Emporia State and Northwest are scheduled to play a single game Sunday.
