The Emporia State volleyball team defeated Newman 3 sets to 1 Friday night.
Newman won the first set 25-17. Emporia State won the 2nd and 3rd sets 25-21 and won the 4th set 26-24.
Saturday the Lady Hornets play at Central Oklahoma.
