The National Weather Service is anticipating moderate fire danger for the majority of the KVOE listening area through Saturday. Humidity levels are forecasted to be in the 30 to 35 percent range with highs in the 60’s and low wind speeds around 10 mph.
The weather service is anticipating a very high fire danger Sunday with temperatures near 70 and wind speeds between 20 to 35 mph possible throughout the day. The danger is expected to remain high through the early half of the upcoming work week before some chances of rainfall enter the forecast Wednesday at the earliest.
Area firefighters were busy earlier this week specifically Wednesday and Thursday when numerous grass fires developed, often leading to fire departments battling several fires at the same time. Fire departments have reported no structural damage and no injuries stemming from the activity either Wednesday or Thursday.
