As more and more individuals receive their COVID-19 vaccines, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is offering answers to some frequently asked questions.
According to the CDC, vaccinated individuals are encouraged to continue wearing masks in public settings and continue to put-off nonessential travel. In addition, vaccinated patients should avoid medium to large-sized social gatherings and continue to practice proper mitigation strategies such as mask use and social distancing while interacting with unvaccinated individuals.
According to an article from ABC News, the CDC says fully vaccinated individuals can visit with other fully vaccinated individuals while indoors without needing masks or socially distancing from one another. Additionally, mask use and social distancing will not be needed for visiting with low-risk, single-household, unvaccinated individuals.
Fully vaccinated individuals can also skip quarantine and testing guidelines after a known COVID-19 exposure so long as they are asymptomatic.
People are considered as fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving their second dose of either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccination or the single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine.
