A former Emporia High teacher faces sentencing Wednesday on sexual misconduct charges with students.
Tyler Bosiljevac pleaded guilty to one count of attempted unlawful sexual relations between a teacher and student. He also pleaded guilty to one count of indecent liberties with a child between the ages of 14 and 16. Both pleas were lodged in January.
Bosiljevac was arrested in late May and formally charged with three counts of indecent liberties, two of attempted sexual exploitation, two of attempted unlawful sexual relations and one of sexual battery. The severity level on the exploitation charges and one indecent liberties count was reduced in August. All remaining counts were dropped.
Bosiljevac had taught at Emporia High 14 years before his termination. USD 253 Emporia did not give specifics at the time, but in a statement it listed several alleged violations of board policy for teacher-student conduct.
Sentencing is at 9:30 am in Lyon County District Court.
