The cause of a small grass fire near Saffordville is under investigation.
Lyon County District 4, Emporia’s rural fire unit, and Chase County Fire were called out to the area of US Highway 50 and ZZ Road shortly after 11:15 am. Crews had the blaze under control fairly quickly.
About six acres of grass burned. No other damage was reported.
