Light to moderate rainfall has started across the KVOE listening area and may continue all the way into early next week.
Rain started just after 7 am at the KVOE studios and we have accumulated right around an inch so far. The Emporia Municipal Airport has received around 0.40 inches. 0.8 inches of rainfall have been reported at Ninth and Lawrence.
Occasionally heavy rainfall is possible through the upcoming weekend. A flood watch continues for Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Greenwood and Osage counties until 1 pm Sunday. Rain chances don’t let up until Monday.
In addition, a marginal risk of severe weather continues just south of Emporia for Friday. Hail up to the size of quarters is the main risk.
