Merchant Street traffic was clogged for a time Saturday night after a crash with reported injuries at the Interstate 35 junction.
The wreck was reported around 9:30 pm and involved two cars that collided near the northbound onramp entrance. The crash did not block the onramp entry, so Emporia Police allowed people to use the onramp and decided against blocking the rest of the intersection. However, traffic was down to one lane for better than an hour after the crash.
One person was checked at the scene for minor injuries and was not transported to a hospital afterward. Further details are pending through Emporia Police.
