Local rain totals fell short of original forecasts, however, rain chances will continue throughout the upcoming week.
At the KVOE studios, we received 0.70 inches of rainfall Sunday, somewhat lower than the projected total of 1-3 inches forecasted. A flood watch was in effect for Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Greenwood and Osage counties for much of the weekend, however, no flooding issues were reported.
Rainfall remains prominent in the forecast as we enter the workweek through Thursday. Friday will see a break in the precipitation with most sunny skies and highs in the 50’s currently forecasted.

Noon Sunday: Rainfall totals lower than forecasted; Chances for additional precipitation continue through majority of workweek
Current rain totals are somewhat slim compared to forecasts, but there’s still plenty of opportunities for precipitation to pick up through the upcoming week.
While the area avoided the forecasted rainfall throughout the day Saturday and didn’t pick much in the overnight hours. A slight drizzle began Sunday morning with the KVOE studios receiving 0.10 inches as of 8 am.
Current forecasts are calling for the possibility of 1-3 inches through Sunday afternoon. A flood watch for Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Greenwood and Osage counties remaining in place until 1 pm Sunday.
Rain and thunderstorm chances remain in the forecast through the majority of the week at least through Thursday.
