Traffic is steady as Lyon County residents start the self-scheduling process to line up COVID-19 vaccinations.
Lyon County Public Health Incident Commander Renee Hively says the only issue so far is people that are not “phase eligible” are trying to sign up at this time. Hively says those appointments will not be slotted and will have to be revisited once Lyon County moves into Phase 3 of the vaccination process.
People can go online to www.publichealth.lyoncounty.org to schedule, but Hively says people have to be “phase eligible” and the process isn’t complete until residents get a confirmation email from Public Health.
Public Health is currently concentrating on persons aged 65 and older, K-12 school employees and childcare workers, food processing plant workers, those in a congregate setting, home care givers, transportation workers, higher education employees, Department of Motor Vehicle and postal service workers, grocery store workers, restaurant and food service employees, and retail employees.
Meanwhile, Public Health plans to vaccinate close to 750 people at its primary dose clinic Thursday. About 950 residents could get their booster shots Friday. Public Health plans to vaccinate as many as 1,400 residents with Johnson & Johnson doses March 25.
