Two juveniles face criminal charges after incidents of vandalism across town.
Emporia Police Sgt. Lisa Hayes says the juveniles were reported as suspicious people early Friday morning. Officers made contact with both people and eventually issued a Notice to Appear in Lyon County District Court for “multiple” counts of criminal damage. Names are not being released.
Officers have been looking for the people responsible for spray-painting the word “ZiP” on numerous items across town, but Hayes says some of the more recent “tagging,” as it’s called, has taken place over the last several weeks and has covered the ZiP vandalism. On top of that, officers are still searching for suspects in the ZiP tagging.
