The Emporia State softball team was swept by Pittsburg State in a doubleheader and done in by the home run Tuesday.
Pittsburg State won the first game 5-0, scoring all 5 runs off of 3 home runs. Emporia State scratched out only 1 hit in the game.
Pittsburg State won the 2nd game 6-3. They broke a 3-3 tie with back-to-back home runs in the 5th inning.
Emporia State had taken a 3-2 lead in the top of the 3rd when Emma Furnish tripled to drive in a run and then scored on a Brittanie Shepherd Single.
The Emporia State softball team is now 10-4 for the season and 0-2 in the MIAA.
They are scheduled to play in the Hyvee Classic in St. Joseph, Missouri beginning Friday.
