CrossWinds Counseling and Wellness has received a significant grant to impact youth programs for the second time this month.
CrossWinds has announced a $6,000 grant from Stormont-Vail Health to augment current programs for severely emotionally disturbed students in Lyon County. Grant funds will be used in on-site classrooms to support virtual learning, which has taken center stage as an education option due to COVID-19. CrossWinds says many emotionally disturbed students need to keep connections with their special education teachers, so this grant gives these students safe classroom spaces to offer those psychosocial supports virtually.
Earlier this month, CrossWinds received $75,000 from the WS and EC Jones Testamentary Trust to expand children’s programs.
