The Kansas Department of Labor announced updates and extensions to several unemployment assistance programs Monday.
The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP) extends both the Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC “PUCK”) and Pandemic Unemployement Assistance (PUA “Poo-UH”) programs through early September. Both programs were set to expire earlier this month.
Updates to both programs will see an additional 29 weeks of benefits to claimants for weeks of unemployment ending after Mar. 14, 2021.
Additionally, ARP is extending the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation benefit of $300 per week through Sept. 4.
Claimants are told to continue filing their weekly unemployment claims for the PEUC (PUCK) and PUA (Poo-UH) programs as directed. If claimants file regularly they will continue to be eligible for and receive the FPUC benefit.
