All children served by Emporia Child Care are now under one roof and Director Deb Crowl could not be happier.
As part of the agency’s more than 10-year consolidation effort, Emporia Child Care moved its preschool program from the Emporia Presbyterian Church to its new location on C of E Drive earlier this month. Crowl says having everyone under one roof is “wonderful.”
Crowl says the consolidation has not only been positive for her staff and the children but also parents. Having all children in one location has saved parents time as they no longer have to travel across town to drop their children off at different locations.
Crowl says due to COVID-19, parents have not been able to be inside the classrooms and engage with staff, which is regrettable, however, it is for the safety of both staff and children.
While there is still some moving needed to be done from the Presbyterian Church to the new C of E location and some minor cosmetic work still underway, Crowl says the decade-long consolidation effort is essentially complete.
The consolidation ends Emporia Child Care’s 50-year presence at the Presbyterian Church.
