The Emporia State softball team swept a doubleheader from Nebraska Kearney Friday.
They won the first game 2-0 behind the 2 hit shutout tossed by Kelsey Phillips. Phillips also scored the first run on a Gabby Biondo double in the 3rd inning.
McKensey Glass stole home for the 2nd run in the 6th inning.
Emporia State won the 2nd game 5-0. Josie Harrison tossed a complete game 5 hitter. The Lady Hornets scored 2 runs in the 2nd and added 3 runs in the 6th.
Abby Ward stole home for the first run. Roni Rains drove in a run with a single.
In the 6th Emporia State scored on a throwing error, Sacrifice fly, and wild pitch.
Saturday Emporia State hosts Fort Hays State in a doubleheader with the first pitch set for 12:00p.
Both games will be broadcast on MIX 104.9.
