Lyon County had a modest increase in COVID-19 cases in its first data set of the week.
Lyon County Public Health reported four new cases in Monday’s report, moving the overall total to 4,081 cases since March 2020. The active caseload dipped from 37 to 31.
COVID-related deaths remained steady at 83. There is one death awaiting final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
Active hospitalizations remain at one.
Stats provided by Lyon County Public Health through WebIZ indicate close to 25 percent of Lyon County’s estimated population of 33,400, or around 7,800 residents, are now fully vaccinated. That includes better than 65 percent of the county’s population over age 65, or close to 3,400 residents. Over the past year, nearly 45 percent of Lyon County’s estimated population has been tested for COVID-19.
