The Kansas City Royals shut out the Cleveland Indians 3-0 Monday.
Whit Merrifield hit a 2 run home run and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly for the Royals offense. Danny Duffy was the winning pitcher giving up no runs on 2 hits with 5 strikeouts in 6 innings.
The Royals are now 3-1 to start the season.
They will be off Tuesday and resume the series in Cleveland Wednesday afternoon.
