The Emporia High softball team improved to 4-0 with a doubleheader sweep of Junction City Tuesday.
The Lady Spartans scored 4 runs in the top of the 7th to rally for a 9-7 win in game 1. Junction City scored 6 runs in the 2nd inning. Emporia high was able to rally scoring all of their runs in the 5th, 6th and 7th innings. Maddyn Stewart was 3 for 5 with 4 RBI. Gracie Gilpin was the winning pitcher.
Emporia High won the 2nd game 8-1. They scored 3 runs in the 2nd inning added 4 runs in the 6th. Kaylee Thomas was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Rylea Harris was the winning pitcher.
The Emporia High Softball team hosts Topeka Hayden Friday in their home opener.
