The Emporia State baseball team was outscored by Washburn 5-2 in the first game of a 3 game series Friday.
Emporia State took an early 2-0 lead on a 2 run home run by Jack Macki in the 2nd inning. Washburn took the lead for good with 2 runs in the 3rd and added 2 more runs in the 5th for the final margin of victory.
Emporia State and Washburn play a doubleheader Saturday in Topeka.
