The Emporia State tennis teams were defeated by Southern Arkansas in duels Friday.
Southern Arkansas won the womens duel 4-3. Emporia State won the doubles point winning at 1 doubles with Kelsie Burr and Silvana Caceras and at number 2 doubles with Cyrielle Peyroche and Karen Santiago Sanchez. Cyrielle Peyroche also won at 2 singles and Colby Fugit won at 6 singles. The final 3 singles matches went to tie-breakers with Southern Arkansas winning all 3.
Southern Arkansas won the mens duel 6-1. The lone win for Emporia State came at number 6 singles, Theo Belmonte.
The Emporia State women host Number 4 ranked Central Oklahoma Saturday afternoon beginning at 1 pm on the Emporia High courts.
