The Emporia State softball team split a doubleheader with Lincoln Saturday.
The Lady Hornets won the first game 8-4. They took the lead for good scoring 5 runs in the 3rd inning. Roni Rains hit a 2 run home run and Destiny Ojigoh drove in 2 runs with a double.
Lincoln won the 2nd game 10-5. The Blue Tigers scored 5 runs in the 3rd inning and added 4 runs in the 6th and Emporia State could never catch up.
Coach April Rosales said they did not help themselves.
The Emporia State softball team falls to 15-17 for the season and 5-9 in the MIAA.
They are scheduled to host Central Oklahoma next Friday.
