Hundreds of individuals from across the state converged on Emporia Wednesday for the annual Kansas Recreation and Parks Association conference.
The KRPA is a statewide organization that provides education, advocacy and support for recreation organizations throughout Kansas. KRPA Executive Director Erika Devore took time Wednesday to speak with KVOE News and says the annual conference serves as a time for inspiration and for all of their members to re-energize.
Devore says they were excited to have Emporia host this year’s event as they have been wanting to bring the conference to the local community for quite some time.
The day’s activities included a series of breakout sessions at both White Auditorium and the Lee Beran Recreation Center, tours around the community and an awards banquet. For more information on the KRPA vist their website KRPA.wildapricot.org.
