The Emporia State soccer team secured the top seed from the Northwest Division for the MIAA Spring Crossover tournament with a 3-1 over Missouri Western Thursday afternoon.
Liz Palmer scored the first goal just 1:08 into the match and added a 2nd goal with 38:50 to play in the first half.
Missouri Western scored their goal with 30:05 to play in the first half.
Mackenzie Dimarco would score with 6:06 to play in the first half.
Emporia State Coach Bryan Sailer credited the defense with some stellar play.
The Lady Hornets improve to 8-0 for the spring. They will close out the spring regular season at Washburn on Sunday. They are scheduled to host a first-round tournament match next Thursday.
