The Weekend schedule will be busy for Emporia State athletes.
Emporia State softball team host Newman Saturday.
They will play a doubleheader with the first game beginning at 2 pm. Followed by the 2nd at 4 pm.
The Lady Hornets are sitting in 11th place in the MIAA standings with 12 games to play. The top 8 teams advance to the MIAA tournament.
Emporia State Coach April Rosales says now is the time to step up.
Emporia State will recognize 6 seniors before the first game.
Both games of the doubleheader will be broadcast on MIX 104.9.
The Emporia State baseball team hosts Missouri Western. They will play a doubleheader Saturday. The Hornets are in 9th place in the MIAA standings, just a half-game in front of Missouri Western. The top 8 teams advance to the MIAA tournament. Emporia State Coach Seth Wheeler says they need to play better.
The first pitch for game 1 of the doubleheader is set for 1:00p. The second game is scheduled to begin at 4 pm.
Emporia State track teams will be hosting the Midwest Classic Saturday. Athletes from 13 schools will be competing in the meet. Track events will start at 9:30. Field events will start at 11:30.
The Emporia High girls swim team hosts a 3 team meet today beginning at 10 am at the Emporia High pool.
On Sunday:
The Emporia State Softball team hosts Central Oklahoma in a doubleheader beginning at noon.
The baseball team wraps up the series with Missouri Western beginning at noon.
The Emporia State Football team hosts Southwestern Oklahoma State in a scrimmage. It’s the second scrimmage of the fall for the Hornets. Emporia State Coach Garin Higgins says the focus will be on the players that need more experience.
Kick-off is set for 2 pm. The game will be broadcast on MIX 104.9.
The Emporia State soccer team plays at Washburn.
The Emporia State womens tennis team plays at Missouri Western.
