The Emporia State football team played their 2nd and final spring scrimmage Sunday.
Even though they did not win the game, losing to Southwestern Oklahoma State 27-14, Coach Garin Higgins was pleased with the way the number 1s played.
Emporia State scored first on a 9 yard run by Cannan Brooks.
Emporia State added to their lead in the 1st quarter on a 43-yard touchdown pass from Braden Gleason to Cory Thomas.
Braden said they were better offensively.
The Emporia State football team will wrap up spring practices and then focus on preparing for the season opener on September 2nd at Northeastern State.
