Governor Laura Kelly is planning to stop in Olpe next week.
The governor will tour Olpe High on Monday afternoon before hosting a roundtable discussion with area superintendents. Topics like funding, COVID-19 response and teacher recruitment may well be addressed.
On KVOE’s 8:05 am newscast Wednesday, USD 252 Southern Lyon County Superintendent Mike Argabright said this is an important appearance for the district.
Governor Kelly will also take part in a photo opportunity with the football team and both boys’ and girls’ basketball teams, all of which won state championships this academic year.
The governor has been touring the state over the past two weeks as part what she is calling the “Back to Work, Back to School” tour.
