Take Back the Night is coming to you through a virtual event Wednesday evening.
SOS Community Relations Coordinator Kari Wedel had details on KVOE’s Morning Show this week:
This comes as SOS continues marking Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and Wedel says SOS is busy at all times of the year helping victims of sexual assault. Nationally, a person is assaulted every 73 seconds. A child is assaulted every nine minutes.
Take Back the Night has traditionally involved a march around the Emporia State campus as well as a candelight vigil. This year, SOS has partnered with Emporia State THRIVE. Wedel says that has helped to increase the event’s exposure on campus.
To see Take Back the Night, go online to www.emporia.edu/live. The event goes from 7-8 pm.
