Newman Regional Health is again being recognized at the state level for the quality of care it provides its patients.
Newman was one of 18 contracting hospitals in the state to be recognized by Blue Cross Blue and Blue Shield of Kansas as a Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care. The recognition comes through the Blue Distinction Specialty Care program which recognizes the efforts of hospitals to provide quality affordable health care throughout the state.
Newman Director of Women’s Health Heather Aylward says the recognition comes to the hospital thanks to the hard work of Newman’s dedicated staff and the amount of training and preparation they do to be prepared for any and every situation.
Aylward went on to say that the recognition indicates that Newman’s quality of care is on par with facilities located in larger communities across the state such as Stormont Vail in Topeka and Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, two facilities that were also recognized through the program.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas President and CEO Matt All says in a news release, “Each facility recognized as a Blue Distinction Center is meeting rigorous quality metrics in all phases of their maternity programs and, in doing so, delivering better care for our members and all Kansans.”
