The United Way of the Flint Hills is steaming towards the finish of its annual fundraising campaign.
Director Mickey Edwards says a hybrid celebration is coming May 12, with an in-person and an online option for attending. Edwards says it’s important to have both options as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
The location for the in-person celebration is still being determined. Attendance for the in-person event will be by invitation only for safety reasons, according to Edwards. She says it’s important to have both options as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
Edwards says the drive is going better than expected, thanks to the work of drive co-chairs BJ and Kristy Bayer. At last word, the drive was approaching $420,000 raised.
