Council Grove Police arrested a Madison man Thursday night on suspicion of intent to distribute illegal drugs.
Police Chief Shawn Wangerin says officers did a traffic stop in the 400 block of East Main, three blocks west of Council Grove Elementary. Officers arrested Pedro Martinez, age not listed, after a probable cause search.
Martinez was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, as well as possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and other drug and traffic infractions. The amount of drugs allegedly found has not been released.
Morris County deputies helped with the traffic stop in Council Grove.
