Brady Singer picked up his first win of the season Saturday for the Kansas City Royals in a 2-1 win over the Detroit Tigers.
Singer pitched 7 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits with 8 strikeouts and no walks.
Josh Staumont earned his first save with a perfect 9th inning.
The Royals scored both runs in the 5th inning. Jorge Soler scored when Andrew Benintendi grounded into a force out. Benintendi then scored on an error.
The Royals and Tigers play again Sunday afternoon with Danny Duffy making the start for the Royals. The first pitch is set for 12:10. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM.
