A western Kansas man was taken to the hospital after a wreck at Emporia’s Kansas Turnpike tollgate Sunday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash happened just after 2:30 pm and involved two vehicles. A car driven by 76-year-old Robert Lee Moore of Sublette tried to get through all lanes of traffic at the plaza and then tried to make an illegal U-turn. In the process, the car hit an SUV driven by 51-year-old Staci Stroud of Flower Mound, Texas.
Moore suffered possible injuries and was taken to Newman Regional Health for observation and possible treatment. Stroud was not hurt.
