Thunderstorms are likely across the KVOE listening area Tuesday night. Some could be strong to severe.
In its midday outlook, the Storm Prediction Center has expanded the slight risk area from Tuesday morning to include areas along and east of the Kansas Turnpike northeast to the Kansas City metropolitan area. Previously, only far southwest Chase County and the southern half of Greenwood County were under a slight risk.
Areas west of the Turnpike are in a marginal severe weather risk.
Showers and storms are expected to increase in coverage area by sunset. Hail is the main concern, although there is a non-zero chance of all severe weather hazards through midnight.
