The Emporia High boys tennis team finished in 5th place at the Centennial League tournament Monday. Manhattan finished in 1st place.
Individually for Emporia High the doubles team of Taylor Moorman and Brenden Kienholz finished in 2nd place, losing to the Topeka West number 1 doubles team of Cusick-Cusick 8-6 in the Championship match. They won all 4 bracket matches and defeated Manhattans number 1 doubles team of Craft-Poole in the semi-finals 8-4.
Brock Guion and Dylan Davis finished in 8th place. They were 2-1 in bracket play. They were defeated by Washburn Rurals number 2 doubles team of Park-Willingham 8-7(7-4) in the semi-finals and lost to Haydens #1 doubles team of Sandstrom-Glot 8-0 in the 7th place match.
Moises Villegas finished in 14th place in singles play. He was 0-3 in bracket play. Defeated Jack Jara of Highland Park in the semi-finals 8-6. Lost to Haydens Hudson Ramierz 8-3 in the 13th place match.
The Emporia High boys tennis team will be playing in the Valley Center Regional Saturday for a trip to State.
