Earlier this week, the USD 386 Madison-Virgil Board of Education reluctantly accepted the resignations of superintendent Stu Moeckel and his wife, Summer, a fourth-grade teacher in the district.
Moeckel tells KVOE News his decision to look into the superintendent’s job at USD 491 Eudora developed quickly last month.
Moeckel credited a lot of people for the district’s success during his tenure, starting with the Board of Education.
Prior to coming to Madison-Virgil in 2018, Stu Moeckel was the principal and athletic director at Victoria High School. Summer Moeckel, meanwhile, has been an elementary education teacher for 17 years. Stu Moeckel will officially take his new position July 1.
