The name has changed, however, the mission of Visit Emporia remains the same.
Formerly known as the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, the agency underwent a recent name change to Visit Emporia. Director Lelan Dains says similar changes are occurring within agencies all across the country.
Dains says the agency’s name will be the only major change as Visit Emporia will remain dedicated to attracting visitors and increasing tourism. With that in mind, Dains says he was extremely pleased with the turnout the community saw last week for the 2021 Dynamic Discs Open.
He says he is looking forward to a similar turnout for the Unbound Gravel Bike Race coming next month.
