Mask use, mass gathering limits and social distancing have all gone from mandates to recommendations over the last month, but event organizers should still have those as part of their plans.
That’s the recommendation from Lyon County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Director Jennifer Millbern.
Fully-vaccinated people usually have more leeway than partially-vaccinated or unvaccinated residents when using mitigation policies. However, Millbern says fully-vaccinated people should still wear masks if they are at events with a lot of people and can’t maintain six-foot social distancing bubbles.
Public Health has been integral in helping the planning process for numerous events and activities since the pandemic started over 13 months ago. For information, call the Public Health COVID-19 Hotline at 620-208-3741 or go online to www.publichealth.lyoncounty.org.
