The Emporia High baseball and softball teams are hosting tournaments Friday and Saturday.
The softball team plays Dodge City Friday with the first pitch at 4:45 at Peter Pan Park. The Ladys Spartans are 6-12 going into the game. They have played some of the top teams in the state in their last 5 doubleheaders. Sophomore Adriana Cruz-Hernandez says in the long run those games can be beneficial.

Andover Central plays Blue Valley Southwest in the first game at 3.
In the late game, Garden City plays Kapaun Mt. Carmel.
The Emporia High baseball team plays Dodge City with the first pitch set for 7 pm at Sodens Grove. The Spartans take a 5-11 record into the game. Senior Tanner McGuire says they have to play with the right mentality.
In the other games Friday Blue Valley West plays Maize South at 3 pm.
At 5 pm Andover Central plays Garden City.
Games will be played Saturday beginning at 10 am.
