Slight increases in COVID-19 are being reported by area counties.
Chase County reported seven new community cases Tuesday, its biggest weekly increase since January. There are six active community cases and three community deaths. Chase County does not announce its full total after outbreaks at Chase Care Care and Rehab and the Chase County Jail ended several months ago. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has the county caseload total at 268, up five from last week. The reason for the discrepancy between Chase County’s new caseload increase and the KDHE increase have not been mentioned.
Coffey County hasn’t announced an update since April 12. KDHE has 733 total cases, up 10 from a week ago, and 23 deaths.
Greenwood County hasn’t announced an update since March. KDHE’s total is 558 cases, up two from a week ago, and 11 deaths.
Morris County reported one new case, so its total is 628. There is one active case and 22 deaths.
Osage County’s report from KDHE has 1,244 total cases, up five from a week ago. Deaths remain steady at 25.
Wabaunsee County’s report from KDHE has 680 cases and 13 deaths, both level with last week.
