An Emporia woman was taken to Newman Regional Health after crashing into a tree just east of Emporia late Wednesday night.
Lyon County Deputy Zachary Shafer says the wreck was reported shortly after 11:30 pm near the intersection of Roads 170 and R-1, about two miles east of the Emporia city limits. Shafer says 27-year-old Courtney Ruhl was driving a car eastbound on Road 170 when her car left the road and hit a tree. Ruhl suffered apparently non-life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
