KVOE’s Talk of Emporia hit the road Monday for a special announcement.
KVOE had its broadcast live from the Emporia Community Foundation for the official reveal of the 2021 Match Day participants. Twenty-five community groups from Lyon County and several neighboring counties were chosen after 32 different groups and organizations applied. The list can be found below.
Last year’s event raised over $322,000 for participating groups. Match Day has led to over $1.4 million in donations to 33 organizations the past seven years.
This year, there is a $60,000 matching pool involved, with matching funds provided by the Clint Bowyer 79 Fund, Reeble Endowed Foundation, Trusler Foundation, Preston Family Trust, Jones Testamentary Trust and a new donation partnership involving Nick and Jan Laurent and Fred and Paula Neuer.
Match Day is Nov. 15 with a drive-thru component at the Community Foundation office, 527 Commercial, as well as online. More information is available at www.emporiamatchday.com.
