Lyon County’s list of flood-related road closures has seen some changes Monday.
Kansas Highway 99 remains closed between Roads 180 and 240 just north of Emporia. Other closures:
*Road 170 west of Highway 99; from Roads N to P
*Road P north of Road 160
*Road R north of Road 160
*Road S north of Road 150 to Road 170
Road B-5 has had barricades north of US Highway 50 after a washout but the road is still passable. Barricades have been removed from Road 150 and F as well as Road 170 and F.
Also, county-wide flood warnings have been removed for the KVOE listening area after affecting all or parts of Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties. River-based flood warnings continue along the Neosho River in Lyon County:
*The Neosho at Emporia is in a flood warning until Tuesday afternoon. The river’s latest reading was 21.82 feet, above flood stage of 19 feet and causing moderate flooding. The river could crest at 23 feet early Tuesday and then go below flood stage shortly after noon.
*The Neosho at Neosho Rapids is in a warning until Tuesday morning. It’s at 23.22 feet, above flood stage of 22 feet, and causing mdoerate flooding. The river could crest at 24 feet Monday evening and then go below flood stage early Tuesday.
*The Marais Des Cygnes River near Quenemo until Tuesday afternoon. The river was last observed at 22 feet above the 17 foot flood stage. Minor flooding is occurring. The river is expected to drop back below flood stage late Monday.
Flood warnings for the Neosho River near Americus, Marais des Cygnes River above Reading and the Salt Creek near Lyndon have been canceled.
