Kansas Highway 99 north of Emporia is back to normal traffic flow after Sunday’s heavy rainfall.
The highway had closed Sunday between Roads 180 and 240, along with several other Lyon County roads near Emporia. The Kansas Department of Transportation says the highway reopened by late afternoon Monday.
Current road closures:
*Road 170 west of Kansas Highway 99 and between Roads N and P
*Road P north of Road 160
*Road R north of Road 160
*Road S north of Road 150 to Road 170
Lyon County residents picked up anywhere from 3-8 inches of rainfall Sunday. More rainfall is possible to likely for the rest of the week, based off the Monday evening forecast.
