Planned power outages for residents in Coffey County will not take place Wednesday as scheduled.
Evergy had planned outages near BETO Junction and Waverly, while 4 Rivers Electric Cooperative had outages set for the Agricola substation and Melvern distribution point. New outage dates have not been set.
Evergy says it needs to replace a transmission structure. It has reinforced the structure so work can be delayed, but the risk of showers and storms Wednesday morning was part of the reason for the postponement — as was a chance to have just one outage instead of two.
4 Rivers cited Wednesday’s forecast for the decision to postpone its project.
