The Kansas City Royals held on for a 7-5 win over the Detroit Tigers Saturday.

Detroit tied the game with 2 runs in the 2nd inning.
The Royals took the lead for good scoring 2 runs in the 4th inning.
Detroit would score 2 runs in the 9th and had the bases loaded before Josh Staumont struck out the final two batters.
Royals manager Mike Matheny says that could prove to be a big step for Staumont.
Andrew Benintendi drove in 3 of the runs with 2 singles for the Royals.
