The USD 253 Emporia Board of Education has salary packages, a property transfer and other topics on its agenda for its regular meeting Wednesday night.
The board is set to approve the master contract for certified staff and salary packages for all staff for the current academic year. The tentative package includes no base salary increases, but it includes one-year stipends, so-called horizontal and vertical step movement, individual supplements and continuation of a $15,000 scholarship pool.
The board is also set to accept a transfer of ownership of property at 3301 West 18th connected to Flint Hills Technical College. The district expects to pay half the closing costs as part of the transaction. The college has been responsible for maintaining the campus and paying property taxes.
In other business, board members will discuss the latest COVID-19 data. They could accept a bid letting for kitchen equipment as construction continues for the Jones Early Childhood Development Center. They could also correct some language in a resolution connected to last week’s decision to rescind a contract offer for Corey Wiltz to serve as Emporia High assistant principal and athletics director.
The meeting starts at 7 pm at Mary Herbert.
