A major bridge project is coming to the KVOE listening area beginning Tuesday.
In a recent news release, the Kansas Turnpike Authority says the fourth round of a two-year project to increase the vertical clearance of 11 bridges across two major highways will be taking place in Chase, Lyon and Osage counties. The work will take place on both Interstate 35 and the Kansas Turnpike from mile markers 105 to 161.
Work will begin Tuesday at a bridge at mile marker 114.6 on Yy Road in Chase County. Work at all the bridges is expected to take at least two months to complete with work taking place simultaneously at two or more locations.
The work will increase the clearance of each bridge to at least 15′-9″. Residents can find project-related traffic updates online at Kandrive.org.
