Rain is likely over for a few days, but the US Army Corps of Engineers has increased the flow coming out of two area reservoirs.
The Council Grove Reservoir’s flow increased from 1,500 cubic feet per second Monday morning to just under 2,000 cubic feet. The lake level has been slowly falling and is now just over seven feet above normal.
The downstream flow out of John Redmond Reservoir went from 3,900 cubic feet per second Monday morning to almost 6,200 cubic feet. The lake is still about 11.4 feet above normal.
The KVOE listening area generally got around 0.50 inches of rainfall Monday, but places further north and west got 2-3 inches of rain. The Cottonwood River at Emporia is elevated but should not approach flood stage, and the same can be said for the Neosho River at Americus and Neosho Rapids.
