The Emporia Senior American Legion baseball team split a doubleheader with Ottawa to open the season Thursday.
Ottawa won the first game 5-1.

Emporia won the 2nd game 4-1. Cam Geitz drove in 2 of the runs. The other 2 runs were unearned.
Aaron Ross was the winning pitcher going 5 innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits with 5 strikeouts.
Cade Kohlemier worked the final 2 innings striking out 6 of 7 batters faced.
